Gold's waiving enrollment fees until November

Gold's Gym Saipan will waive enrollment fees ($99) for new members until November. This decision coincides with the ongoing renovation project. The interior painting is nearly complete with the rain gutter and water catchment repair in the beginning stages.

One section of the wall near the chin up bar is painted a darker brown so that members can use the wall to climb up to the bar.
The next phase will be to re-do the women's locker/bathroom with new flooring, tiles, shower, counter and vanity area.

Gold's gets a facelift

Earlier this week, we commenced the start of the first of many projects to renovate Gold's Gym and give it the much needed face lift it deserves. The upstairs painting is now complete with the apricot/peach shades brightening up the workout, stretch and cardio areas.

The beams are slightly darker than the walls which gives it a nice contrast.
True, it was difficult to choose a paint shade to match the green and purple ceiling beams.
But then, we agreed that nothing will really match and we had to choose colors that promotes energy and vigor!

In the coming months, we will add some large sports photo murals to enhance the walls.

Mieko Carey is Gold's newest Fitness Instructor!

Mieko Carey, one of Saipan’s well known triathletes, is Gold’s newest fitness instructor.

For the month of September, Mieko Carey will begin teaching two classes back-to-back on Wednesdays:
Wed: 5:00-5:15pm: Power Abs (2nd floor stretching area)
Wed: 5:30-6:30pm: Power Sculpt (aerobics room)

Mieko will lead the Power Abs class, which targets the mid-section with specific exercises geared to strengthen the abs.

Next, her high energy Power Sculpt class combines aerobic conditioning, cardio and weight training, stretching and cool down.

Local Group Buys Gold's Gym

Gold's Gym Saipan has a new set of owners and operators. Marianas Fitness Ltd. has purchased the Garapan based gym and is planning on implementing a number of upgrades in the coming months. MFL President Russ Quinn says "The first thing we are planning to do is to really get to know our members and find out what they want their fitness center to look and feel like. We are looking forward to growing the business through hard work, great customer service, and facility upgrades.

"We got involved because this is great community business, and we want to make a difference in improving the health and fitness of our local people", says Vice-President Marian Aldan Pierce.

Local Attorney Rex Kosack and his wife Clarie are also part of the ownership mix; Rex will transition from 13 year Gold's Gym member to shareholder, and will serve as the Secretary for Marianas Fitness Ltd.

"We can't wait to get started! Gold's has been in this community for a long time, and we are now ready to take the fitness center to a different level. We have a strong team, that is dedicated to fitness, and we look forward to delivering a quality experience for our customers", says Yosh Gabaldon who will serve as Treasurer.

Other members of the group include Richard Pierce, Kanae Quinn, Nikki Gabaldon, Chris and Brett Nelson.
